STEPHEN WILSON

Stephen has over 25 years of experience leading complex technology-based programs in the telecommunications, defense, and electronics industries. Stephen has worked extensively and successfully with international clients and teams across North America, Europe and Asia. In 2002, he founded Wilson Cook Associates, which currently offers R&D consultancy services to both private and public companies across Canada.
Stephen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Queens University Belfast, a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Ulster, and a post-graduate degree in Management Studies from the University of Ulster. He is a UK Chartered Engineer and holds two patents in the field of fiber optics. Stephen holds both Canadian and British citizenship.

EVERT DEBOER

Evert spent most of his career in R&D in telecommunication-related fields. After graduation, Evert spent five years working in the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia before coming to Canada. In Canada, Evert was employed by Nortel for 25 years and became an expert in automated protection switching techniques for optical transmission. Evert is a holder of 20 patents, most of which are in the field of automated protection switching.
Evert became a partner in Wilson Cook Associates in 2009. In addition to working on clients’ SR&ED applications, Evert has developed a unique suite of tools that Wilson Cook Associates offer clients to assist in gathering the material needed to support their funding applications.
Evert holds a degree in Telecommunication from the HTS in Alkmaar, the Netherlands.

FRED HORST

Fred has spent over 25 years of his career in the defense/aerospace and railroad industries. He has participated in and managed multi-disciplinary engineering teams developing electronics, telecommunications, software, mechanical, and IT-system solutions. Since 2006 Fred has worked as an engineering and management consultant providing system design, project and product management services to the rail industry.
Fred joined Wilson Cook in 2013 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics & Communications) from Concordia University in Montreal, is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, and has contributed to over 10 design patents.

GARETH WILSON

Gareth specializes in technical publications and program-related research and has experience filing applications and working with the Wilson Cook tool set. Prior to joining Wilson Cook, Gareth worked in a variety of roles at the Bank of Canada, Public Services and Procurement Canada, the IT Branch of the Canada Revenue Agency, and Celestica Inc.
Gareth joined Wilson Cook in 2015 and holds a Bachelor’s of Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. Gareth graduated first in the Political Science program and second in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

DAN BERESFORD

Dan is an experienced leader with expertise in managing engineering and project management teams developing complex electronic products/systems from concept through design, qualification, and manufacturing production launch. He has over thirty years of hands-on practice in various design and management capacities.
Prior to joining Wilson Cook Associates, Dan held progressive management positions with a multi-national electronics developer and manufacturer. Dan joined Wilson Cook Associates in 2008 and focuses on serving the Greater Toronto client base.
Dan has a B.Eng from Ryerson University and is PMI/PMP certified.
